Un Chateau en Provence is located in the rolling South Luberon countryside, close to the pretty villages of Ansouis and Lourmarin, whilst the vibrant university town of Aix-en-Provence is just over 30kms away. The domain is composed of three main buildings : "Le Chateau", the main house; "La Bergerie", which is 150 m from e main house and "Les Ecuries" (la Maison des Amis), which is 50 meters from it.
The exteriors of the chateau are as one would expect from a domain that has been steeped in history since the original building was built in 1603. The extensive gardens, which include several water features, an olive grove , a long drive way with plane trees acting as sentries, a working windmill, a formal French garden, two heated pools, one, Greco – Roman in style and close to the chateau measuring 20 x 7m, the other, located close to the Bergerie, measuring 14 x 5m and several lakes, all of which are surrounded by vineyards run by the estate.
The interiors of the chateau are utterly charming and evidently steeped in the history of a bygone age, the rooms are all spacious, opulent, whilst decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout.
